Meet the Principals

Mr. Taylor, Principal

I am so excited for another great year at Rossford Elementary School. This year will begin my 16th year as a Principal in Rossford. It willMr. Taylor with his family. be our third year in our beautiful new building!  Before coming to Rossford, I had six years of administrative experience from Toledo Public Schools. Prior to becoming an administrator I taught sixth grade at Pickett Elementary School for eight years. I grew up in Oregon, Ohio and attended Clay High School. I started working with children when I was in high school and worked for the recreation department.  I helped coach tee ball and soccer during the summer and worked at several camps.  I was a cabin leader during high school and always enjoyed working with children. From a young age, I could tell that it was my calling to be a teacher.

After high school, I joined the United States Marine Corps and served for six years in an infantry unit. I attended the University of Toledo and graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1993. I completed my Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision in 2003. Shortly after that I completed the course work to gain my Superintendent’s license from the University of Findlay.

I have a very supportive and involved family. My wife Michelle, and children Jackson, Kennedy, and Madison try to attend school events and volunteer their time. They really enjoy the annual Halloween parade and seeing the streets lined with kids. I am an avid sports fan and I’ve coached many teams for my children. I still enjoy shooting baskets and staying active. Aside from my family, my other love is fishing. I enjoy fishing for bass, pike, musky, walleye and perch. I look forward to my annual fishing trips to Canada and enjoy spending time outdoors. If you have any good fish stories, I’d love to hear them.

This is going to be another great year and I look forward to meeting all of the students!  Oh, by the way, GO BLUE!

Mrs. Heck, Assistant Principal

I am so excited to be joining Rossford Elementary this year as the Assistant Principal!  I spent seven years at my last school, Summit Academy, in Toledo.  I served as an Intervention Specialist, IEP Coordinator, Assistant Principal, and Principal for the last two years.  Prior to being in NW Ohio, I spent seven years as a substitute teacher in the Buffalo, New York area.

I grew up in Walled Lake, Michigan and attended Eastern Michigan University.  I played softball for EMU and graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree.  I earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Kent State University in 2001.

My husband, Kevin, and I have been married for 24 years. We have four sons, Cooper (22), Hogan (19), AJ (16), and Jameson (14).  They are very active and we love cheering them on at their sporting events.  We also enjoy traveling, playing games, going to the lake and spending time with extended family.  I also enjoy gardening and staying active.  Our two dogs, Coco and Maverick, keep us busy as well!

I am very excited to get to know all of you as we become educational partners at Rossford Elementary!
