Now that the school year has wrapped up our downtown campus is clear and it is time for our construction team to do its job. We appreciate your patience and support during this process.In the coming days and weeks, you may notice individuals in hazmat suits working at the downtown campus. There is no reason to be alarmed if you see them. This crew is conducting the abatement portion of the project and the suits they wear are to ensure safety as the abatement process is conducted. Abatement is a routine process involved in construction projects where demolition and/or renovations are a part of the project and particularly when older buildings are involved.
The construction fencing will also be going up soon. In the meantime, we appreciate everyone’s continuing cooperation in keeping the downtown school campus clear to keep everyone safe while the movers and district staff finish details attached to the first steps of the project, the abatement process proceeds and Gilbane assumes the property for the demolition and construction to begin.
