College Credit Plus Informational Meeting 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23

Rossford High School will hold an informational meeting for the College Credit Plus (CCP) program on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 7 p.m. in the Theater at the Center for Fine & Performing Arts on Owens campus. This meeting is required for all students and parents who wish to take part in the College Credit Plus program for the 2019-20 school year.

The CCP program allows eligible students from grade 7 through high school to take courses and earn high school and college credit that appear on both their high school and college transcripts. Students will be able to take courses offered by Ohio public and private colleges and universities in a setting arranged by the college, including taking courses on campus, as on-line courses, or as dual-enrollment courses offered at the high school. Participating colleges include University of Toledo, University of Findlay, Bowling Green State University and Owens Community College, as well as other area institutions.

To be eligible, students and parents must receive counseling regarding the program provided by the high school and submit a signed Letter of Intent indicating they understand the risks and benefits of the program. This initial step will be met by attending the Informational Meeting on January 23.  Students must then meet the admission standards of the participating college or university to which they apply for enrollment, either through ACT test scores or placement testing and by meeting the college or university gpa requirements. Participating colleges and universities will provide an advisor for each student enrolled, who will help the student navigate the college requirements. Students who have already participated in CCP must still complete and return the Letter of Intent.

There is no cost for the student to participate in College Credit Plus when the student is enrolled in a public college or university.  Rossford High School and the college or university shares the cost for the course. Students choosing to enroll in a participating private college or university, including the University of Findlay, may incur costs.

Please plan to attend this important meeting if you would like your student to have the opportunity to take advantage of this program. You may contact the High School Guidance Office at 419.666.5135 if you have questions.

Your Rossford Counselors,
