Two Operating Renewal Levies on the Ballot

This is NOT a new tax

Dear Rossford Schools Community Members,

It is an exciting time to be a Bulldog. Our architects and construction management teams are working on drawings for our new facilities.

Two renewal issues will be on the May 2 ballot. This is not a vote for any new money. These levies amount to 25 percent of our current operational funds.

One of the renewals was first approved by voters in 1992; the other one was approved in 2002. Voters have renewed both levies, each representing 7.9 mills, since their inceptions. The Board of Education is unanimously requesting another 5-year renewal for both renewal levies.

These levies pay for the district’s day-to-day operations, student programs, and will allow us to continue current programming levels with no additional cost to taxpayers.

A few interesting numbers: Since the initial levy was approved in 1992, Rossford High School has graduated roughly 3,637 students after this school year. We have had two National Merit Scholars since 2015. We have won 19 conference titles and four state championships. Our concert band has earned an ‘Excellent’ rating by the Ohio Music Education Association the past two years, and the marching band earned the honor this year.

Rossford Schools has been awarded the Auditor of the State Award for clean audit reports over the past four years. Our preschool program received a Five-Star Program rating, which is the highest honor the Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Jobs and Family Services can award.

It is truly an exciting time to be a Bulldog. If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

Respectfully,

Dan Creps
Superintendent
