Rossford Junior High School receives 'Momentum' award from State

The Ohio Department of Education honored Rossford Junior High School with the 'Momentum' Award for its progress and value-added in the state report card released this fall.

"It is a great honor to receive this Momentum award," RJHS Principal Bryan Skrzyniecki said. "We are proud of our staff, students and families who have worked diligently to ensure every student is reaching their potential. This award is very positive for our school because it not only shows that our students are making strong growth overall, but that our students with specific needs are showing the same growth as well. It demonstrates what we are doing is working and the data also gives us areas to work on to continue to improve what we do every day."

Rossford Junior High School received an 'A' for overall value added, value added for gifted students, value added for the lowest 20 percent in achievement, and value added with students with disabilities.

“These districts and schools are doing a wonderful job providing students with the tools to succeed — and their students are rising to the challenge,” said State Board of Education President Tess Elshoff. “The State Board of Education is proud to recognize these students, teachers, administrators and parents for their accomplishments.”
