Facilities Update at February 12 Board of Education Meeting

The Collaborative-TMP architects along with Gilbane Building Company delivered an update on the construction process and design planning during Monday Feb. 12, 2018 Rossford Schools Board of Education meeting. The presentation to the board gave an update on plans, budget, and timeline for the construction of our renovated and new 6-12 building, our new preschool through fifth grade, bus garage, and transition space.

Preschool through second grade will be on the bottom floor, while third through fifth grade will be on the second floor. The Collaborative did show a few more renderings from inside the elementary school. The furniture in the classroom renderings that you see are subject to change.

The meeting also introduced Program Solutions as the owner's representative for the district's construction.

High school students will be housed at Owens Community College from August 2018 until December 2019. Junior High School students will be attending school at Indian Hills during the same timeframe until construction is completed at the 6-12 downtown facility.

"We're going to need to do some minor renovations," Dave Serra of The Collaborative said about our junior high students and staff being housed at Indian Hills. "We feel confident all the spaces will fit and we can make this a very usable space."

Chad Stevers of Gilbane Building Company said that through design development they were within a half percent of the budgeted plan, and they are even closer now that junior high will be at Indian Hills.Rendering of the new elementary gym.

"We are really happy with where we ended up on design development," Mr. Stevers said.

He was announced that there will be groundbreaking ceremonies for the elementary and high school construction projects this May.

"Great job everyone thank you," Board Member Tiffany Densic said to the architects, and builders after the facilities update.
