Mrs. Feldkamp's Seventh Grade Language Arts Class, Room 303

Supplies needed for the class:  folder, single subject spiral notebook, pens, pencils, notebook paper

                            ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

    The course content for seventh grade language arts is based on the Common Core Ohio Content Standards.  To learn more about all of the specific learning objectives for your child, visit  www.corestandards.com.

      For the reading component of this course, the students will be reading a variety of text types including:  adventure stories, personal essays, historical fiction, speeches, mysteries, opinion pieces, myths, essays about Literature, science fiction, biographies, realistic fiction, dramas, poetry, and memoirs.

                                                           Book 2

    For the writing component of this course, the students will produce clear and coherent written pieces in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.  Some of the writing assignments to be completed are:  short research reports, informative papers, explanatory papers, arguments, and narratives.

Homework policy:  All students are expected to come prepared to learn with their finished homework.  If a student fails to complete an assignment, he or she has one day to bring it in late.  The penalty will be that the assignment will be lowered one letter grade.  If the assignment is more than one day late, it is a zero.  (Please refer to the homework tab on this website to view the weekly assignments.)

Classroom expectations:

  • Be on time.
  • Be prepared for class.  Come with your supplies and positive attitude.  
  • Be responsible.
