Ohio State Tests Information

This year, Ohio State Tests, also known as AIR (American Institutes for Research) tests, will be given to students in grades 3-11 beginning in April 2016. This page has resources to learn more about these assessments as well as help prepare teachers and students for these new online tests. Students are strongly encouraged to go through all of the practice tests that they are assigned to take.

Ohio State Tests

  • ELA (English Language Arts) - grades 3-11
  • Mathematics - grades 3-11
  • Science - grades 5, 8, & HS Biology (& Phys. Sci)
  • Social Studies - grades 4, 6, & HS Government & American History

NOTE: There used to be two testing sessions, but now will be only one for 2016
The abbreviations on some practice tests listing "PBA" or "EOY" mean the following, used for 2015 testing:

  • PBA - Problem Based Assessment (formerly given about 2/3 through the school year)
  • EOY - End of Year Test (formerly given later in the school year)
