Welcome Back to School 2018-2019
Dear Rossford Schools Community,

The changes occurring throughout our school district are evident just by taking a quick drive through downtown Rossford, where you can see the progress occurring at the site. As you head to State Route 795, you see a new building rising from the ground behind Glenwood Elementary. Benefits that will give our community’s children a 21st century learning environment with great opportunities for generations to come.

Our staff is eager to begin the new year in two new locations. Rossford High School has its signage and space prepared at Owens Community College to continue educating our students while the downtown construction advances. Updates have been made at Indian Hills for our Rossford Junior High School students and staff to utilize the building for the next year and a half. The anticipated completion date for the downtown location is January of 2020, when the high school and junior high students will reunite in our new 6-12 campus.

We are bringing new programming to our elementary students. We are ramping up our Science, Technology Engineering, Math (STEM) courses at Glenwood and Eagle Point with new instruction. STEM programming allows students to develop communication, problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, and data analysis. It is equipping our students for the next generation of jobs.

On the administrative front, Curriculum Director Jason Smith retired this summer and Glenwood Principal Megan Spangler was designated as the next Curriculum Director by the Board of Education. Mark Swavel was hired over the summer as Assistant Principal who will handle day-to-day operations at Glenwood Elementary. Jeff Taylor was appointed as Principal at Glenwood and Eagle Point, and next year he will be the Principal at our new Rossford Elementary School.

Many exciting changes and transitions are occurring throughout the district. Construction progress, new innovative programming, and great staff additions have us ready for a fast start this fall.

These two sites not only show the progress of our construction projects, they also represent all the positive and exciting events happening in our district.

As always, if there are any questions, please don’t hesitate to call us at 419-666-2010.
