Preschool Program Earns Five-Star Rating

For the third consecutive year the preschool program of the Rossford Schools has been recognized as a Five-Star Program by the Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Jobs and Family Services.

The evaluation is based on a quality rating system called Step Up to Quality, which ranks public and private early childhood programs on scale of one to five. Rossford’s public preschool program, which is housed at Glenwood Elementary School, earned the highest possible five-star rating.

The Step Up To Quality Program Standards include the following domains: Learning and Development, Administrative and Leadership Practices, Staff Qualifications and Professional Development, and Family and Community Partnerships.. Programs are recognized for meeting high levels of performance in each of the four domains, in addition to exceeding health and safety licensing standards. The process includes providing extensive documentation and an on-site visit, which consists of observations, document review, and staff interviews.

“We are very proud of our students and staff for consistently earning this honor from the Ohio Department of Education,” said Erin Perry, Director of Student Services
