College Credit Plus : Students and parents interested in College Credit Plus for the 2017-18 school year must view the attached presentation and then print and submit the Letter of Intent to the HS Guidance Office by March 31st, 2017. Links to college websites are included in the presentation and can be accessed to complete applications.

Please note that completing the Letter of Intent is only the first step in the process and is not an application to a participating university. Applications must also be completed, the student accepted, and placement testing requirements met before a student may be able to register for college coursework.

Students interested in taking Marketing/DECA, and Calculus, Weather/Climate, and any other college courses taught at RHS must also complete the Letter of Intent.

Mandatory Meeting for 2017-2018 applicants: January 18, 2017 at 7pm.

College Preview Night
Rossford will again take part in College Preview Night at Owens CC on Wed. March 8, 2017. Programs begin at 6:30 and run until 8:00. Students and parents can attend sessions on college planning, scholarships and financial aid, ROTC, and many other topics as well as talk with representatives from over 100 colleges and universities. This free event is one of the largest college fairs in the area and a great place to get information on many colleges and programs. This program is especially useful for juniors, but all students are welcome.

The Rossford Guidance Department strongly encourages all students to plan to take an ACT test sometime during their junior year. The October and June test dates are offered at RHS but other dates are available at many area schools.
We suggest that students consider taking the ACT at least once in the junior year. Students may repeat the test as often as they would like in order to obtain a higher score.  Many schools now require the ACT/Plus Writing test so we recommend taking it the first time you test.   Check with your counselor if you qualify for free/reduced lunches.  You may qualify for a fee waiver for the ACT. The test costs $58.50 for the ACT/Plus Writing, $42.50 for the ACT/No Writing.

Students may also consider taking an SAT test, especially if they scored well on the PSAT. www.collegeboard.org
