It is with privilege and excitement that I introduce myself, Mark Swavel, as the Assistant Principal at Glenwood Elementary. I have always lived in Northwest Ohio and attended Upper Sandusky High School. I went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University where I majored in Middle Childhood Education and specialized in Science and Social Studies. I later earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from BGSU.
I am coming to Glenwood in my 13th year of education. I taught fifth grade at Springfield’s Holloway Elementary for eight years and spent my last four years teaching sixth grade at Anthony Wayne’s Fallen Timbers Middle School. I am no stranger to Glenwood Elementary, as I student taught here many years ago.
In addition to my role as an educator, I am first and foremost a father and husband. My wife, Rachel, enters her 11th year as a school counselor. My daughter, Avery, is entering third grade and her brother, Ethan, will be starting kindergarten this year. They both play soccer while my daughter also enjoys tennis and my son has started golf lessons.
I am excited for a fantastic school year, and look forward to partnering with you during your child’s educational journey.
