Dear Friends of Rossford Schools: The successful passage of the Rossford School District operating levy is a great achievement for our school district and our community. Dear Rossford School District Families and Staff: Recent legislative changes require school districts to convert from days to hours in a school year. Rossford Schools will be converting from days to hours beginning with the 2016-2017 school year. Based on the District’s current arrangement, each school year shall consist of 185 days. On April 16, students and teachers were recognized at the Wood County Educational Service Center's 2015 Achievement of Excellence Awards Banquet held at Penta Career Center. A group of Rossford High School students, staff, school and city officials, as well as family and community members celebrated Rossford's annual Arbor Day by remembering the late Rossford High School student Kerry Keller. Kerry was 17 years old when he passed away in April 2012 after a cou rageous battle with cancer. A recent financial audit of the Rossford Exempted Village School District (REVSD) by the Auditor of State Dave Yost’s office has returned a clean audit report. The Rossford High School Chess Team traveled to the Hyatt Regency in Columbus, Ohio to compete with over 1,500 other players in the 2015 National High School (K-12) Championship from April 10-12. Over the course of three days, players competed in seven rounds. Thirty eight states were represented. The tournament was hosted by the U.S. Chess Federation. On Saturday, April 18, the Rossford High School Student Council participated in Global Youth Service Day. This day encourages young people around the world to actively participate in making a difference within their communities through service. This year, members of Student Council visited Providence Park in Grand Rapids, Ohio. The students helped clean the park and placed mulch around flower beds and various signs. Thirteen students from Rossford High School were inducted as new members of the National Honor Society in a ceremony held at the school on Thursday, April 30, 2015. The Rossford Police Department will present their Safety Town program from June 15-19, 2015, at Eagle Point Elementary School, 203 Eagle Point Road, Rossford, Ohio 43460. The program is offered to all children enrolled in kindergarten. Safety Town is a program designed to help children deal with situations that they have not yet encountered, such as, safety in the home, on the playground and in the street. The program will be taught by staff members of Rossford Schools, with a limit of fifteen . . .
Rossford community members are asked to nominate a deserving candidate who has graduated from Rossford High School prior to 1985 and who has made significant contributions to society.
